The Final Week

BeachBody Day79

Monday started Week 12 of Turbo Fire. The last and final week. It’s actually been 14 weeks since I had to take a couple weeks off while Ben was in the hospital and recovering. I still can’t believe that it’s been so long since I put in that first disc into my DVD player. Time flies when you’re having fun ;-)

Turbo Fire Day 77 – On the schedule it was suppose to be a Rest day. But I decided to do my favorite HIIT workout instead :-) HIIT20 just goes by so quick and gets my heart racing. I went as hard as I could.

I started my day with a 5k run. I woke up before my alarm feeling great after getting a good nights sleep. I haven’t slept well in over a week because I’ve been so congested – especially at night. I took a sudafed last night and I was finally able to breathe!! That made all the difference. My run was better than it normally is for a bootycall. I’m usually half asleep and just trying to get through it. I was able to run at a good pace today :-)

With Ben back to his work schedule, I have the kids by myself more. I followed HIIT20 with part of the BIkini Series challenge for today: Lean Legs Pyramid and 100 tummy tucks. The Tone It Up pyramids are great. Short but intense workouts that always leave me sore the next day :-) I’ve gotten stronger since the last time I did Lean Legs because my calves didn’t cramp up like they use to after the jumping jacks. I would have to walk it out and stretch before I could continue. I was really glad I could move on faster today. Those 100 tummy tucks were no joke!! After 60 it burned so bad. I paused for a few seconds in downward dog after every 10 tucks past 60.

The second part of the challenge was the Drop10 Fat Zapper HIIT. I was hoping to do it tonight but Ben took some over time and came home later than I expected. Plus my congestion came back and I had zero energy to go to the gym. So I will be doing it first thing tomorrow for my bootycall :-)

Ended with a 5min plank- plank, side plank, plank, low plank. I could feel the 100 tummytucks the whole time. Sore abs tomorrow :-)

Meals:
M1: – FlaxPlus Oatmeal w/ blueberries, banana, unsweetened almond milk and chia seeds. Tried he Bombshell spell today and loved it. Will be trying to have it every day this week :-)

Love the Bombshell Spell from the Tone It Up Beach Babe Edition :-)

M2: half a grapefruit and 4 dark chocolate almonds

M3: Chocolate Shakeology w/ kale, avocado, frozen mango, pineapple juice and unsweetened almnd milk.

M4: tomatoes, cucumber and pop chips w/ chunky olive hummus.

Veggies, hummus, and Pop Chips

M5: Chicken-less orange chicken from TraderJoes with green beans. I didn’t have high hopes for this. The chicken-less chicken strips were not that good. But this was really tasty and I could barely tell that it wasn’t actual chicken :-)

Thought I’d Give this a try for Meatless Monday.

Added some sautéed green beans.

70 oz. water

A Hectic Day

BeachBody Day71 – Saturday

I’m surprised I can remember Saturday. It was such a Hectic Day! I had two tball games to film, pack, and get to Monterey no later than 6p so I could pick up my packet for the race on Sunday. It was both good and bad that the first game wasn’t until 11a. Good because I could get my workouts done for the day before leaving. Bad because that meant I couldn’t leave until later. Started with a 30 min walk at a brisk pace.

Such a clear day in the bay.

Turbo Fire Day 69 – After breakfast it was HIIT20/Tone30. I kept it low impact on the HIIT workout. It probably sounds crazy that I would do this the day before my race, but it was the only workout I did for the day so I had plenty of time to rest – kind of. lol.

In between the games, I packed and had lunch. I made sure to pack my Tone It Up lunch box with snacks for the drive and breakfast for the next day. I wanted to be able to have my Whole Wheat Bagel thin, almond butter, and banana :-) I double checked to make sure I had my belt, shoes, running clothes, socks, sunblock, and hat packed. I loaded up my car and headed to Gio’s game. As soon as it was over, I said good bye and headed for Monterey – where the Health and Fitness Expo was being held.

My handsome little tball player :-)

I actually made pretty good time. There wasn’t any traffic on the way there. The problem was when I got to Monterey. I wind up in the wrong lane and kept going the opposite of my directions :-/ I’m not all that great with my sense of direction and I easily get lost. I probably spent at least an extra half hour driving around Monterey. Lol The one lucky thing was that I was able to find a decent place to park. At the Expo, I found my way to the packet pick up. I handed them my ID and the lady handed my my bib/d-tag and wished my luck on my race. That was it. I went downstairs and walked around the Expo…. Realized I forgot my water bottle so I bought one at a vendor booth for $10 – not too bad. Also got 2 for $15 hats – I just couldn’t pass it up. lol.  I figured I was all set so I headed out to meet my Aunt and Sister at the hotel.  They had already arrived a few hours earlier and were sight seeing. I was already a half hour later than what I had planned.

Snack and Breakfast Packed

Lunch Box right next to me :-)

Drove through this tunnel twice.

Made it to the Expo!

This way to pick up my bib and d-tag.

Spent only 10 min at the Expo

2 for $15 Hats :-)

Walking back to my car – a block away.

Cool Artwork.

Corner where I parked.

Then I got lost again :-/ I passed the hotel and thought I had turned around to get back to it. Turns out, I was on my back to the freeway. I was tired and really frustrated at this point. I’ve been driving for close to 3 hours and I was done! I try not to panic when I get lost. I just keep trying to find my back. Somehow I make it to the hotel. I was so relieved and happy  – but that was short lived. My aunt and sis ask to see my shirt… what shirt? My race shirt… OMG! I didn’t get my shirt!! The lady never gave me one. Apparently I was suppose to pick it up at the Expo – but not in the same room as the Expo but a separate room. WTH? I was kind of upset about this. I like to wear my race shirt for the races. There wasn’t anything or anyone that told me about the shirt while I was there. So why didn’t I go back to the Expo? Well it just so happened to be 5 till when I find this out. The Expo would have ended before I could even park. On top of that I didn’t get my sweats bag or pins for my bib – which were also in this special room at the Expo. My Aunt was optimistic in me getting one before the race while my sister was a bit pessimistic about it. There wasn’t much I could do but wait until morning.

Aunt San driving us to dinner :-)

Passing by the docks.

We went out to dinner at a really good Italian restaurant. Really fresh pasta. I ordered the Cannelloni with Spinach and Ricotta – the same as my Aunt. My sister order some Gnocchi with a glass of wine. We laughed and had a great time. My sister and I shared a unique Tiramisu dessert. I’ve never had Tiramisu the way they served it, but it was amazing! You could definitely taste the rum :-)

A really great and fresh Italian Restaurant.

Sis enjoying some wine :-) I stuck with water.

My sister’s gnocchi.

We headed back to the hotel and got ready for bed since we all had to be up early the next morning. Despite a some what stressful day, I slept well. I think I was just so tired that I didn’t have much time to worry about the race like I usually do :-)

Meals:

M1: Larabar and lots of water.

M2: Apple

M3: Salmon, quinoa and brussel sprouts

M4: Pop Chips

M5: Cannelloni w/ spinach and ricotta. Split a some tiramisu with my sister :-)

Everything was freshly made.

The most interesting tiramisu I’ve ever had.

80 oz. of water.

Double HIIT

BeachBody Day66 (Monday)

Even though I was really tired from my super busy weekend, I got up Monday morning for my bootycall. Had a great day with two HIIT workouts :-)

Good Morning! Before getting to my bootycall workout.

Workouts:

Bootycall – Under the Sea X3 – 12 reps each

Turbo Fire Day 64 – HIIT20  – This is my favorite HIIT. 3 routines – 2 repeated twice and 1 repeated 3 times. It goes by so fast and before I know it, it’s over.  No modifications this time around. Followed with Tone30 and really focused on making every rep count. Since they don’t do a lot of reps, I have to really add resistance to keep it challenging.

Afternoon workout – Drop10 Sweet 16 on the treadmill with an incline. This was a short HIIT but it makes you sweat!! Followed with Drop10 Toning X3.

Drop10 Sweet16 HIIT on an incline with a warm up and a cool down.

Sweaty Mess after Sweet16 workout :-)

Ended with 2 min plank w/ 1min tummy tucks

Meals:

M1 – Chobani Champions Vanilla Chocolate Chunk w/ almond butter and chia seeds.

Used up all of my favorite Raw Almond Butter :-(

M3: Chocolate Shakeology w/ strawberries, avocado, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. And a Mango.

M4: 5 dark chocolate almonds.

BeachBody Day63 &Day64

I got so busy with getting ready for my first 10k and life in general that I didn’t have much time to blog. Trying to remember what I did last week is tough – especially when I didn’t write much down :-/ So I combining Friday(Day63) and Saturday(Day64).

Day63 – Friday: I was able to get up for my bootycall workout :-) It was really tough because I was worn out from yesterday and I really really wanted to sleep in.

It was Tone It Up’s Under the Sea workout x3 again :-) Can you tell I like it? Lol.

Got my ToneItUp Beach Babe DVD!!

I’ve also been busy getting my youngest prepped for Kindergarten. I honestly can’t believe that he starts this August. So I spend about a half hour every day working with him. I usually do my TurboFire workout right afterwards.

Turbo Fire Day 61 – It was fun to do Fire55EZ. I’ve got the routine down now so I focus on giving it my all. I kept it low impact during the Fire Drills though. I wanted to save my knees for my run.

I also managed to get to the gym and do a HIIT workout on the treadmill – Drop10 Engine Revver. Wanted to get one last run in :-)

2min work, 2min rest 8 rounds w/ 4 min cool down at Incline10

Ended with a quick 2min plank. I had a lot to do to get ready for our crazy Saturday. Plus my sister came to stay the night so I spent some time with her.

Meals: I really don’t remember everything I ate.

M1: Chobani Champions Vanilla Chocolate Chunk with Almond Butter and Chia seeds.

M2: Mango and Pineapple

Mango and Pineapple for M2.

M3: Can’t remember.

M4: Green Protein Shake.

Green Protein Shake: Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, Vanilla Protein Powders, Almond Butter and Spinach

Day64 – Saturday: It was just a crazy day. I got up early to do my TurboFire workout because I knew I wouldn’t have time to do it later on.

TurboFire HIIT20

Turbo Fire Day 62: I intended to do my workout at the gym. I packed my laptop in my gym bag and headed out but the gate to our gym was broken :-( So I came home but the boys were already awake. To keep them quiet while my sister slept, I decided to work out in their room.  HIIT20 wasn’t the easiest to do early in the morning in the boys room but I managed. Kept everything low impact but high intensity.  This one goes by so fast. Sculpt30 was also a tricky to do in the boys room but the boys did a good job of staying out of the way.

Then it was time for their baseball games, traveling 2 hours to Sacramento, a birthday party, and then finally to Ben’s mom’s house. It was a really hot day in Sacramento so the boys and Ben went swimming as soon as we go to his mom’s house. The water was just a little too cold for me but I did sit back and enjoy the show.

I did do a 2 min plank before bed.

2min PlankADay

Meals –

M1: Starbucks spinach and feta wrap.

M2: Luna bar.

M3: Snapea Crisps – on the road.

M4: Birthday party food. I was starving by the time the food was done. BBQ chicken, a tiny bit of potato salad and macaroni salad, fruit, veggies, and a small piece of birthday cake :-)

M5: Tri-tip (again)  and chicken with brown rice.

At least 80 oz. of water. I was continuously drinking water because it was so hot but I was drinking bottled water and from a glass.

BeachBody Challenge Day25

I was so tired last night that I actually listened to Ben and took a break from blogging. lol. I went to bed at 9:30p – and that is Super early for me. It felt great to get some Good sleep – more than my usual 5 maybe 6 hours. Yesterday was a great day though.

I was determined to get up for my bootycall workout. I really need to get back to doing these regularly. I decided to do Tone It Up’s Bikini Blast Circuit – 20 reps each X 3 sets. I followed it with a 2 minute plank. It maybe hard for me to roll out of bed and to do a workout but it totally wakes me up once I’m done :-) I got dressed and made Gio’s lunch all before having to wake the boys up. It felt great to be on top of things.

I went grocery shopping after dropping the boys off at school. I really think that grocery shopping should be considered exercise. lol. At least the part where I have to carry All the bags from my car and inside. I had 8 bags and it took me 2 trips to get it all upstairs. I was a little worn out from it, but I decided to get a workout in before having to pick up Seppe. I hadn’t lifted weights in a while so I did the Spartacus Workout.  I used 25lbs for the Goblet Squat, 15lbs for everything else except for the T-Pushups and Plank Rows where I used  5 lbs. I had just enough time to get in a round of M100’s. I timed myself to see how long it takes me and hopefully I can get faster :-)

How Long it took me to do M100's

—————————– Turbo Fire Day 23 ———————————

I wanted to do my Turbo Fire workout before picking Gio up from school so I did it after lunch.  On the schedule was HIIT20 and Stretch10.  I guess it had been a little while since I’ve done this one because I didn’t remember it. Lol. It felt like a new workout.  I attempted all the tuck jumps.  I liked that we did every drill Twice – and the last one 3 times.  It gave me a chance to do better because I was always behind a little the first time through. Hopefully I’ll remember more the next time so I can just focus on giving it everything I’ve got.  Definitely needed the Stretch10 afterwards.

I probably should have stopped after Turbo Fire.  It was a pretty intense workout. But there was a new Tone It Up Shredmill that I couldn’t resist trying. It was short one – 20 min so I did it before making dinner.  I’ve done most of Tone It Up’s Shredmill’s and their first one is one of my favorites.  I use it for my speed training. I figured I was pretty prepared for this new one…. But I was wrong.

Tone It Up's New Shredmill

I do Treadmill HIIT’s without much of an incline to save my knees.  This new one had inclines! Sprinting for 15 seconds on an incline was super tough. I really wanted to stop after the second round. I was breathing hard but I told myself that it was for only 10 minutes. The cool down at an even higher incline was intense! I was at 6mph but I wound up lowering to 5mph because I just couldn’t keep up. Yeah I got my butt kicked! Since this one is so tough, it will definitely be one I keep on doing. Plus I think it just gave me a good way to train for hills :-) I’m glad it’s  a short one though because I don’t think my knees would be too happy if I tortured them for too long.

How I Did with the New Shredmill - Going to Keep Working on it :-)

That Shredmill took the very last bit of energy I had. I was completely exhausted at the end of it. I have no idea how I made up 4 flights of stairs to my apartment. I could have gone straight to bed as soon as I got home. Originally I had planned on doing another plank, but I decided I had done enough for the day. My body needed to rest up for my long run tomorrow.

Meals:

M1: Chobani Strawberry with Raw Almond Butter and Granola

M2: 1/2 a Luna bar that Seppe didn’t want to finish, a slice of TraderJoe’s Zucchini Loaf and a bowl of grapes. I need to start makingzucchini bread from scratch again. I use to make it all the time when I was younger. This one from TraderJoe’s is pretty good. Gotta keep it to 1 serving though.

Meal 2 - I was hungry :-)

M3: Panko Tilapia Salad

Lunch - Panko Tilapia Spinach, carrots, tomatoes, avocado, and cucumber salad

M4: Snapea Crisps, pear, and homemade trailmix

M5: Quinoa pasta with Veggie sauce made from scratch – 3 roma tomatoes, zucchini, squash, and mushrooms.

Quinoa pasta with tomatoes, zucchini, squash, and mushrooms

Dessert – 4 dark chocolate almonds

60 oz. of water and a Zico.
